KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Liliana Encinas is the Bilingual Public Outreach Coordinator with the Santa Barbara Fire Department and the LISTOS National Program Director for the Fire Services Training Institute. This year, she was named Woman of the Year by Santa Barbara’s “The Resource,” a community focused media nonprofit. Her partnership with IHSB started in 2017 where she has been providing disaster preparedness education to our students involved in our community education class. Out of this partnership, Liliana led the biggest Spanish speaking group in the nation with advanced disaster response training. She will share her experience working with Immigrant Hope and the importance of having a place for our immigrant neighbors to learn how to be active citizens in their community.

One of this year’s special keynote speakers is Officer Adrian Gutierrez, who has been a police officer with the Santa Barbara Police Department for 22 years. He has partnered with Immigrant Hope Santa Barbara since 2018 in providing community education to our immigrant neighbors through the department’s community academy program. He will speak on the unique partnership he has built with IHSB and how it has impacted the lives of many immigrants in Santa Barbara. He will focus on the ways that Immigrant Hope has walked alongside our immigrant friends through their hardships and gain hope and confidence in overcoming these challenges.
